Making a Big Impression at NACS

Champs Chicken added a whole lot of spice to the NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) Show in Atlanta earlier this month. If there’s one word to describe the experience, it would be BIG; big venue, big displays, big bucks. To have a presence at NACS means you’re playing with the big boys, and Champs Chicken stepped up to the plate in a big way.

Armed with our revamped marketing materials (see “New Face of Champs Chicken”), our exceptional crew brought all the deliciousness of Champs Chicken to over 3,000 people and left them hungry for more. Many visitors proclaimed our freshly breaded chicken, crunchy catfish, and mouth-watering sides were the best in the venue…no big surprise!

While visitors raved about the scrumptious taste of our products, most were amazed to learn about the depth of our offerings. It’s hard to image, but many of our competitors do not supply their retailers with quality-tested recipes, ingredients and products. They also do not provide the level of service that Champs Chicken is famous for: regular store visits and support from our territory managers, equipment experts who know how to maximize space and ROI, and access to a full-service marketing department that will help connect retailers with customers. That’s the true advantage of a Champs Chicken program: offering the best service in the foodservice industry, coupled with a complete menu-line up that’s second to none.

We’re already cooking up some incredible plans for next year’s show. The big idea is to simulate a real-world convenience store, giving retailers a clear picture as to what they can expect to see in their own locations. The rest will have to remain a secret for now. One thing we do know for sure: we’ll certainly make a big splash!

New logo, website unveiled for brand

HOLTS SUMMIT, MISSOURI – Champs Chicken, a nationwide branded food program from Pro Food Systems, Inc. (PFS), is adding more sizzle to its consumer experience. Starting this week, the company invites the public to visit their newly redesigned website, showcasing an improved navigation system, engaging content, and a new company logo.

Created with both retailers and their customers in mind, the revamped website – – promises to offer a user-friendly experience by featuring:

  • Enhanced food photography of menu items and easily access to nutritional information
  • Helpful insights for retailers interested in partnering with Champs Chicken
  • Responsive technology, enabling visitors to view the website easily on tablets and mobile devices.

“A website is truly the front porch of any business,” Mia Platz, marketing manager for Champs Chicken, said. “The goal of the site was to inform the entire community about the range of Champs Chicken products, entice them with imagery and then help them easily find a location. The site can also be a one-stop informational resource for Champ Chicken retailers, saving them valuable time and providing vital tools for success.”

Re-launching the website prompted another big change for Champs Chicken – redesigning their logo, which has been with the company since its inception in 1998.

“The main driver behind this change was to make the artwork more modern and the Champs Chicken character more recognizable and prominent,” said Carl Christenson, vice president of marketing for Champs Chicken.  “We also wanted to stay true to our roots and the image that has taken us so far.”

Adds Shawn Burcham, CEO and president of Champs Chicken: “While it’s undeniable that the old logo and website played key roles in our growth, the time has come for a change.  I believe this new presentation will appeal to a larger audience and help us to achieve our goal of opening 5,000 stores.”

Brandigm Communications (Springfield, MO) with GreyGoo, a digital design firm (Chicago, IL), collaborated with PFS on the project.
